“Baru saja kami mendapatkan kehormatan, menerima kunjungan silaturahmi sekaligus koordinasi awal antara Komisioner KPU dengan jajaran kepolisian,” kata Sigit usai audiensi kepada wartawan.
Menurut Sigit, pesta demokrasi 2024 nantinya akan lebih kompleks dibandingkan sebelum-sebelumnya. Alasannya, kata Sigit, dalam Pemilu tersebut akan dilaksanakan pemilihan yang serentak, baik tingkat eksekutif maupun legislatif.
Oleh sebab itu, Sigit menyebut, dalam kesempatan audiensi ini, KPU memaparkan kepada pihak kepolisian mengenai seluruh tahapan dan proses pelaksanaan Pemilu 2024.
“Sehingga perlu persiapan yang lebih awal, dan tentunya terkait dengan proses pengamanan baik hal-hal yang bersifat administrasi sampai dengan hal-hal yang sifatnya pengamanan fisik di lapangan, mulai tahapan awal, pelaksanaan rangkaian kampanye, sampai dengan proses rekapitulasi. Dan tentunya proses tahapan pengamanan pada saat rekapitulasi di pusat dan tahapan yang lain, seperti adanya gugatan,” ujar Sigit.
Dengan adanya koordinasi sejak dini dari pihak KPU, Sigit memastikan, pihak kepolisian di seluruh Indonesia siap melakukan pengamanan dan pengawalan di seluruh rangkaian tahapan Pemilu serentak tahun 2024.
Sigit menekankan, dengan adanya komitmen dari pihak kepolisian, lembaga penyelenggara Pemilu dan instansi terkait lainnya, diharapkan proses demokrasi di Indonesia dapat berjalan sebagaimana asas langsung, umum, bebas, rahasia, jujur, dan adil.
“Tentunya kami dalam posisi yang siap mengamankan, sehingga semua tahapan Pemilu dapat berjalan dengan baik dan hasilnya dapat dipertanggungjawabkan. Karena semuanya bisa terselenggara dengan aman dan lancar,” ucap Sigit.
Kesempatan yang sama, Ketua KPU Hasyim Asy’ari mengungkapkan bahwa tahapan awal Pemilu 2024 rencana akan dimulai pada 14 Juni 2022 mendatang. Ia pun menyebut, dalam pengalamannya, Pemilu selalu meningkatkan tensi perpolitikan di Indonesia. Sebab itu, Hasyim melakukan koordinasi sejak awal bersama dengan Polri.
“Sehingga dengan begitu, kita tahu semua yang namanya Pemilu dan Pilkada adalah area kontestasi politik yang dianggap sah dan legal untuk meraih kekuasaan ataupun mempertahankan kekuasaan. Tentu saja tensi politik akan makin tinggi, oleh sebab itu kami menginformasikan lebih awal dalam audiensi ini,” kata Hasyim.
