JakartaBicara, Papua – Aksi Keji Kelompok Kriminal Bersenjata (KKB) di Papua kembali terjadi, kali ini dengan kejinya melakukan penyerangan terhadap 12 warga sipil salah satunya seorang Pendeta atas nama Eliaser Baye hingga meninggal dunia.

Kabid Humas Polda Papua Kombes Pol Drs. Ahmad Musthofa Kamal mengatakan, penyerangan dan penembakan KKB terhadap pendeta dan warga sipil terjadi di Kampung Nogolait, Kabupaten Nduga, Papua.

“Kejadian penyerangan terjadi pada hari Sabtu tanggal 16 Juli sekitar pukul 09.15 Wit di Kampung Nogolait Kabupaten Nduga yang mengakibatkan 12 orang menjadi korban diantaranya 10 meninggal dunia salah satunya seorang pendeta dan 2 orang mengalami luka-luka,” kata Kamal dalam keterangan tertulisnya, Minggu (17/7/2022).

Kamal pum menyesalkan kejadian tersebut, aksi Kelompok Kriminal Bersenjata (KKB) tidak berprikemanusiaan. Ia pun menegaskan, anggota Polres Nduga yang di backup Satgas Damai Cartenz dan rekan-rekan TNI masih terus mendalami latar belakang dari perbuatan keji KKB tersebut dan melakukan pengejaran terhadap pelakunya.

“Sangat keji, tidak pandang bulu, seorang pendeta yang harusnya kita hargai dan kita hormati harus menjadi korban pembantaian Kelompok Kriminal Bersenjata,” ujarnya.

Kamal menjelaskan, kegiatan sehari-hari pendeta Eliaser sebagai pelayan gereja di Kampung Yereitma, Distrik Pija, Kabupaten Nduga. Pendeta Eliaser ke Nduga dalam rangka kegiatan konfrensi GKI di Wamena pada 26-28 Juli 2022.

“Pak pendeta meninggalkan seorang istri dan enam orang anak,” katanya.

Lebih lanjut, Kabid Humas mengatakan saat ini 11 orang korban diantaranya 9 orang meninggal dunia dan 2 orang luka-luka telah dievakuasi ke Kabupaten Mimika. Sedangkan jenazah Pendeta Eliaser Baye diserahkan ke keluarganya di Kenyam.

“Jenazah Pendeta Eliaser Baye rencananya akan disemayamkan di Gereja GKI Kenyam,” katanya.
